ECOLOGY

We are taking action in the tar sands!

As this e-mail goes out Greenpeace activists are putting themselves in front of earth diggers - huge machines the size of houses - used to scrap away the wilderness that covers the tar sands. They are demanding that world leaders put an end to this climate crime - tar sands development is pushing the planet towards climate catastrophe. Watch the action unfold live and show your support for a future without tar sands:

Tar sands - sometimes called oil sands - are one of the largest remaining deposits of oil in the world. Developing the tar sands has created the biggest industrial development project, the biggest capital investment project, and the biggest energy project in the world. It has also created a literal hell on earth.

Areas of wilderness the size of small countries are chewed up and replaced by a landscape of toxic lakes, open pit mines, refineries, and pipe lines.
You have to see it to believe it.

We will continue to put pressure on our world leaders in the lead up to the UN Climate Summit this December in Copenhagen - and we will need your help. Keep an eye on your inbox for more updates.

Thank you for your support!
